Going cross-platform with ASP.NET Core talk at Bristech 2016
Posted on Thursday, 3rd November 2016
Today I had the pleasure of delivering a last minute replacement talk on going cross-platform with ASP.NET Core at BrisTech 2016. The original speaker dropped out just a couple of days before the conference so I was more than happy to step in and deliver the talk. Overall I’m really happy with how it turned out, and considering the talk was a last minute stand-in talk I was really pleased with the number of attendees.
During the talk I discussed the future of the .NET platform and Microsoft’s cross-platform commitment, the performance benefits, differences between .NET and .NET Core including ASP.NET differences, then proceeded to demonstrate the new .NET command line interface and building an ASP.NET Core application using .NET Core.
To put the proof in the pudding so to speak, to demonstrate that .NET Core really is cross platform, I did all of this on a Macbook Pro.
